Homeschool offerings at Farmhouse Pantry

Clubs and classes are offered on Thursday mornings at Farmhouse Pantry in Saranac, NY.
Farmhouse Pantry is closed to the public during clubs and classes, but the coffee shop will be open for parents. However, no one should feel obligated to purchase anything.
While there is limited space for parents to hang out during class time, and free wifi is available, please be mindful of the classes taking place.

Participants sign up at the beginning of the semester (September and January), committing to the full semester and paying any applicable fees.

Winter Semester 2016 (January 12th and ends February 16th) options:

Book Club ~ Three books will be explored this semester, reading along at the same pace as friends during the week, and discussing what we’ve read during our club meetings. This club is open to all, at parent’s discretion. Chosen books are said to be for ~8-14 year olds. We’ll discuss the first half of each book on the dates listed below, and finish the book and discussion the weeks between.
Jan 12th –Running out of Night by Sharon Lovejoy
Jan 26th – The Absolute Value of Mike by Katherine Erksine
Feb 9th – The One and Only Ivan by Katherine Applegate
Club runs from 9am to 10am

Instructional Art ~ Meeting for four weeks beginning January 12th. We will explore different mediums and techniques, focusing on drawing and painting, with a different project each week. This class is designed for those aged 5-10.
Class runs from 10:10am-11:10am
Cost $10

Book Club ~ This book club will begin with Salt to the Sea by Rutga Sepetys followed by Scrawl by Mark Shulman, Lab Girl by Hope Jahren, Stuck in Neutral by Terry Trueman, and Tomorrow When the War Began by John Marsden. We will determine the best pace for the group as we go and discuss what we’ve read during our club meetings. This club is open to all, at parent’s discretion. Both books are said to be for 15+ year olds.
Club runs from 10:10am to 11:10am

Some classes have a minimum number of students needed in order to run. All participants will receive a confirmation email by January 9th notifying them that the class/club/workshop is running.
Please bring any necessary fees to your first class.
